Supply chain planning and purchasing simulation at Aurubis
Aurubis AG is a leading global supplier of non-ferrous metals and one of the largest copper recyclers in the world. At the beginning of 2020, Aurubis decided to migrate the planning processes in the supply chain to a standardized platform as part of the Advanced Planning System (APS) program. The first project, "Purchasing and Production Planning in the Copper Blister & Scrap Division," with the goal of reducing error-prone manual input processes and creating scenario analyses in procurement planning, has already been successfully implemented with celver and Board. In the long term, Aurubis wants to use the program to plan more details in planning at a higher frequency with the result of better predictability.
With another project around purchasing simulation, the company is pursuing the goal of process acceleration in order to be able to react more quickly on the market. The new SCM platform will not only help to match offers in terms of quantity, but also in terms of quality with the long-term production program.

Klaus Henning Wenck holds a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, an MBA in corporate management and a Master of Sciene in international production management. He joined Aurubis in 2013 and is responsible for the APS program as program manager.
Sebastian Jakob is head of the CFO Services business unit at celver AG. He is a certified Board Consultant and has been working in the Business Intelligence and CPM environment as a consultant, project manager and pre-sales since 2007. He currently advises clients from various industries on their planning projects.
Henry Stass joined Board in early 2017 as an Account Manager, serving the Public Sector, Automotive, Manufacturing, Construction and Agriculture & Farming sectors in Germany and Austria. He has 15 years of experience in key account management, new client business and business development with extensive knowledge in topics such as HR, Medical, Corporate Performance Management and Business Intelligence.
